Abstract

This study discusses the need for libraries to shift from a traditional role of curating information to a more innovative focus on creating new knowledge to remain relevant in the digital age. The study emphasizes the importance of building 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, and communication, for library innovation. It identifies challenges and opportunities associated with this shift, including resistance to change and lack of expertise, as well as opportunities for engagement, relevance, collaboration, and innovation. The study concludes by suggesting that libraries can address these challenges and leverage these opportunities by providing training and professional development, building partnerships, and experimenting with new programs and services. Overall, the study highlights the crucial role that libraries play in building 21st century skills and promoting innovation and creativity in their communities.
