South Korea’s World Scout Jamboree: A Big Data Analysis

Abstract

The ultimate goal of this paper is to provide an in-depth analysis of 25 articles of Google regarding South Korea’s World Scout Jamboree.Our research was conducted by the software package NetMiner. A point to note is that common nouns were the widely used ones in 25 articles of Google and that there occurred one word whose use is 674 tokens. A further point to note is that in the word cloud of 25 articles, the key noun Jamboree is the biggest. This in turn says that it is the most key and central word. With respect to the use of 16 topics, it is worthwhile noting that topic 13 was the most widely used, followed by topic 16, topic 1, and topic 9, in that order. When it comes to the use of key nouns, the noun event was the most occurred one, followed by the noun scout, the noun Jamboree, the noun world, and the noun South Korea, in descending order. This paper argues that the words camp and event are a pair and that the words problem and food are also a pair. This paper further argues that the words UK, scout, contingent, and US form a group called clique 46 and that this tells us about the scouts of the UK and the US that left the campsite.
