Abstract

As offshore oil development infrastructure, offshore platforms are prone to oil and gas leakage and explosion accidents during operation. Aiming at the problem of structural response characteristics under explosion load, the response characteristics of typical offshore platform living building structures under explosion loads are analyzed in accordance with the reproducing kernel particle method (RKPM). First, the RKPM numerical model and calculation method of the structural response of a typical living building under explosion load are established in accordance with the elastic-plastic theory of the shell and the plastic return algorithm. Compared with the calculation results of the finite element software, the validity of the RKPM calculation method for simulating the structural response is then verified. Finally, the shock response of the typical offshore platform living building model under the action of explosion load is analyzed. Investigation results show that the maximum displacement and stress response of the center point of the blast-facing surface of the living building are approximately 3 and 2 times the entire living building, respectively. When the plastic deformation is stable, the displacement of the center point of the explosion-facing surface of the living building is generally 1/4 larger than that of the living building, indicating that the cabin can highly resist the impact of the blasting load better than the beam structure.
