Abstract

To avoid the possible thermal burnout of the grate during the incineration of high-calorific-value waste, the heat dissipation performance of three types of internal piping arrangement (folding type, wave type, and return type) under four different waste calorific values and four different cooling water flow rates was simulated and studied. A certain type of water-cooled grate is taken as the research object, with the same piping cross-section. The results show that the bending-type water-cooled grate is suitable for waste incinerators with a small variation of the waste calorific value, whereas the wave-type water-cooled grate is suitable for waste incinerators with a large variation of the waste calorific value. It has some reference value for the design of forced water-cooled grates in high-temperature environments.
